About Lgem
Lgem is a biotech scale-up in the field of microalgae production, created after a merger in 2020 between the companies Lgem and Synalgae. Lgem has been around for more than 16 years. The young and dynamic team develops innovative and patented photobioreactors (PBRs) for both small- and industrial scale algae production of various strains of algae including the most fragile ones.
Lgem is continually developing new photobioreactor technologies to remain at the forefront of microalgae production systems and always deliver the highest standard of technology in the field to its clients. All reactor designs are develop in-house using technology trialled and tested in our own AlgaeHUB in De Kwakel. Here Lgem gives access to test facilities for companies, researchers, and universities as well as using it as a test-case for the newest prototypes of reactor technology. The team of engineers and scientists takes care of the development, delivery, and implementation of total algae growth systems.
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer:
- To support and strengthen the new product development project team, by bringing the design ideas to life by producing accurate 3D models using Autodesk Inventor, supporting technical production questions
- Supporting sales activities by producing client specific reactor implementations and 3D visualizations of reactor integration in greenhouses
About the job:
- Develop detailed 3D and 2D production drawings of photobioreactor technology;
- Critical (re-)thinking existing product designs based on production input and prototyping results;
- Produce client specific lay-out drawings and supporting the Lgem Sales department with technical product questions;
- Conceptual drawings and supporting technology development based on 3D designs;
- Collaborate within the new product development team to maintain high product standards;
- Setting project timelines and delivering projects within defined timelines;
- Technical understanding of water based technologies preferred;
- Reports to the Lead Product Manager.
About you:
- Experience in technical product development with Autodesk Inventor;
- Independent worker with good critical thinking skills;
- Strong communication skills;
- Team-player with the goal in mind;
- Curious about new technologies;
- Experience with water-technologies preferred.
Qualification requirements:
- BSc in Mechanical Engineering or similar background and 1-3 years of relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering.
